Evaluation Services
Swallowing Evaluations
Do you or your loved one have trouble with swallowing, aspiration, or feeling like you have to avoid certain foods?
At DVT Therapeutics, our state-of-the-art swallowing evaluations include a detailed review of medical history, patient and family interviews, and a clinical swallow exam. This allows us to examine how the lips, tongue, teeth, cheeks, and palate are moving as the patient consumes different foods and liquids.
When needed, we also complete objective swallowing image studies (FEES) in-office or bring them to the patient’s location (Mobile FEES).
Voice Evaluations
At DVT Therapeutics, voice assessments focus on understanding both how your voice functions and how voice changes affect your daily life.
Using a thin, flexible scope with a camera and strobe light at the end, we can view how the vocal cords move in real time during speech. We’ll share our results to help your family make informed decisions about next steps and create therapy goals that are meaningful, functional, and personalized to meet your needs.
DVT Therapeutics also works closely with local ENT offices to provide a range of advanced voice assessments, including videostroboscopy.
Cognitive & Communication Evaluations
Our cognitive and communication evaluations provide objective information about how a person thinks, communicates, and manages daily tasks.
We assess areas such as attention, memory, problem solving, decision-making, and language, while learning how these challenges affect each person’s daily life and cultural participation.
Once testing is complete, we’ll work alongside your family to create practical goals that support independence, communication, and quality of life.
Speech & Occupational Therapy Services
Our Approach to Therapy
At DVT Therapeutics, our approach to adult rehabilitation is personalized, holistic, and grounded in what matters most to each patient. We see the whole person, not just their diagnosis, and work to understand how challenges affect daily life, independence, and cultural traditions.
We understand that two people with the same diagnosis may have very different goals, and we honor that by creating individualized therapy plans. We also involve families and caregivers in therapy by explaining the purpose behind each activity and how to support progress in day-to-day life.

Now Offering Occupational Therapy (OT) for Adults!
To better serve our patients and their families, we are expanding our team to include Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. This means a more complete, team-based approach to care, where we address not only the mechanics of swallowing and speaking, but also the broader symptoms that our stroke patients face in daily activities. With this integrated approach, we aim to give patients their independence and quality of life back.
